Let me start by introducing myself. I live on a small horse farm in Northern Virginia, www.sandyrunfarm.com
A couple years ago, I decided to add chickens to my collection of animals. I knew I did not want any roosters, as I didn't want to deal with a mean rooster, and I didn't want to risk neighbors complaining from the noise. So I ended up with 4 assorted breed 8 week old pullets. They turned out to be a white leghorn, a Rhode Island Red, a Buff Orphington, and a black one that I am still not positive on the breed. Any ideas?!

My Buff Orphington, Angel, tends to get very broody come spring and summer. About a month ago, I decided to order som fertilized eggs off of MyPetChicken.com and see if Angel would hatch them out. I have been wanting silkies for a while now, so I decided to order the bantam blue silkie eggs. They finally came in this Monday, June 16th.

Day 1, after I put them in the nest |
Angel started laying on them around Wednesday, June 18th, so I predict them hatching between July 6th and July 8th.

Day 4: She has really gone broody now, and puffs up when I open the nest door. |
